How to be a runner for the long run

I learned one important tip about being able to run so that your joints don’t give out and get all messed up in later years.

Weight training.

Simple, right? But I’m a total newbie at any kind of physical activity as a regular hobby so it was mind blowing to me.

A friend who lifts told me that she was told that everyone should be lifting weights as a basic. Then they can go branch off to whatever sports they like. For me as a runner, lifting weights will strengthen the knee joints and help me run as I get older. Apparently people who just run and skip lifting are the ones who bear the long term consequences of wearing out their knees.

Crazy.

I’d better lift more.
