Midsummer thunderstorm and its warm darkness

I love seeing dark stormy clouds coming in over the white fluffy ones during the summer. The way the vibrant tree leaves turn colder. The way they bustle against each other and create music. The way some of them fall off and it starts raining leaves. (The vibe feels very close to how Harry Potter film series first start out with vibrant and joyful golden tones and gradually turn blueish and greenish starting 3rd and 4th movies)

It’s humid where I am. When it rains, it gets sticky and sweaty. I don’t really enjoy that, but I have the comfort and privilege of staying safe indoors where I can watch the thunderstorm. I don’t know what it is about them that I love so much, but I do. I love the way the clouds change dramatically. I love the ways that trees come alive violently. I love the way that the rain, especially pouring pouring rain, makes waves and patterns on the asphalt. The nature makes a striking presence like omnipotent force, leaving me at awe of how something like this is possible.

It’s something I have loved since childhood.

It’s something I secretly look forward to every summer.
